This change pertains to the documentation required for applicable claims and is mandated by the National Road Traffic Act, 1996.

The National Road Traffic Act, 1996, mandates that any change in ownership or sale of a motor vehicle must be officially reported to the relevant authorities. Failing to comply with this statutory requirement can result in legal complications, which may have adverse consequences for Santam, De Wet De Villiers Brokers, as well as the other parties involved. As a part of this, Santam is legally obligated to transfer ownership to their name before disposing of these assets.
• 2. Ownership Verification: The Notification of Change of Ownership/Sale is a critical document for verifying changes in vehicle ownership. It confirms that the vehicle has been lawfully transferred to a new owner.

What You Need to Do

To ensure a smooth and efficient transition, we kindly request our clients' cooperation in the timely submission of the Notification of Change of Ownership/Sale of Motor Vehicle form. Here are the specific requirements for different stakeholders:

• For Private Individuals:
  Please ensure that a certified copy of your Identity Document or driver’s license is provided.
• For Companies:
  Please ensure that a BRNC Certificate/Company Proxy Identity Document or a letter confirming the proxy is provided.

It's important to note that the insured must complete only section(s) A and C of the Notification of Change of Ownership/Sale of Motor Vehicle form.

What to Expect
